After picking up a couple of things from the Freecycle lady I have decided I didn’t like the nesting box she gave me and am going to pass it on. It is too big and heavy and I have just this evening gone out and bought a 6×4 shed at B&Q.
We had to empty the trailer at the dump (around 10 miles away from our house but on the way to B&Q) but we got caught up in a little bit of traffic and arrived just as they were closing the gates. We had loads of things in the trailer but it looked like one big thing so I called over to the friendliest looking of the guys at the gate and pleaded with him to let us in to off-load. His mate was adamant that the gates were locked but I pleaded some more – telling them we had just driven 15 miles and what with the cost of petrol these days didn’t fancy having to do it all again the next night.
The friendly guy let us in but there was a lot more in the trailer than he had thought and we took ages unloading it despite running as fast as we could.
As I pulled an old swing set out I knocked something over underneath it. It turned out to be a cannister of engine oil from the last oil change. From that point on we leaked oil from the trailer, all round the amenity center, up the road and then in the pick up area at B&Q. In fact it is still dripping now it is back in the drive way. I think it will be for some time to come too.
OH and I will really enjoy making the shed in to both a coop and a store but I am drawing a blank for inspiration how to design this.I had the idea of splitting the shed in two – the bottom half for the storage of the the bird food etc and the birds on the top but am starting to have second thoughts about this now.
We’ll see how it goes.
