David, Jessica and I are just back from visiting Janet, the other forum member who lives *round the corner* from us. We drove round because the weather was so bad but there is no reason we couldn’t have walked round as it really isn’t that far.
It was lovely to spend an hour with her – someone I know wasn’t thinking that I am mad for wanting to keep chickens! We swapped stories and I checked out a real Eglu which I haven’t actually seen before. :O
Hopefully, she will come and see our set-up fairly soon.

Yes, some yes, some no!
Chook Man informed us that they would all be laying *already* when we picked them up and suggested that they were all around a year old.
Sydney is definitely laying, so is Lacey and Buffy has given us at least one. Sydney gave us our first egg the morning after we got her and I have been expecting 6 eggs a day ever since!
Sydney and Cake are the same Isa Brown and Sydney’s comb is far more developed than Cake’s so I reckon Cake is a bit younger and possibly not at POL.
On one hand I am happy that Cake may not be as old as Chook Man thought as I don’t want a shorter laying time with the girls but on the other hand – I want my 6 eggs a day! *jokes only slightly*
You WERE getting eggs at the beginning – did they miss you so much when you were away that they stopped again? Are you giving them Layers Mash / Pellets or too many treats?
I would still suggest a visit to the very friendly Omlet Forum as there is a vast wealth of experience there too.
